Project Summary

Multi-year, multi-phase project completed in 2013. The project scope was to utilize some unused space in a telecommunications facility and turn it into a data center.

Two data floors totaling about 35,000 square feet were used along with 2 battery rooms totaling about 19,000 square feet. The team also added two 2 megawatt back-up generators to the existing 2 megawatt generator. The two new generators are in a 3,200 square foot engine yard with above ground day tanks and a load bank.

The project included replacing 3 cooling towers with 4 new 240 ton cooling towers. BSA Design Group and our consultants also replaced 3 chillers with 4 new 240 ton chillers. The data center floors are on raised flooring with chilled water loops below. This loop feeds several computer room air conditioners (CRACs) and there are in-row coolers throughout the line ups for the hot aisle, cold aisle alignments.

The electrical service was redesigned and reconfigured to allow the electrical switchgear and electrical power distribution system to provide dual source power feeds to major mechanical equipment.
