Our History

BSA Design Group has an important responsibility to enhance people’s lives
through architectural and interior design.

BSA, formerly Brand-Sayers Architects, is a Dallas based firm and was formed in 1989 when Thomas Brand joined Paul Sayers of Paul Sayers Associates and changed the name of the firm. Our firm is registered with the State of Texas as an S Corporation. Initially, the firm consisted of Paul Sayers and Thomas Brand and has since grown over the 30+ years in business. Upon Paul Sayers’ retirement in late 2008, Vanessa Wittliff became a partner in the firm.

More recently, at the beginning of 2014, Thomas and Vanessa elected to continue to grow and transform BSA yet again. Vanessa Wittliff was elected as president of the firm therefore allowing the company to become a woman-owned establishment. The name change coincided with the change in majority ownership interest that resulted in BSA becoming a HUB certified, woman-owned firm. Hub, State of Texas.

The focus of BSA has been the provision of consulting architectural and interior design services to corporate and public clients. Since 1989, BSA has completed over 5,000 projects of varying size ranging from the smallest of projects to the design of a complex 156,000 s.f. Network Operations Center for AT&T in Las Colinas.

Our heritage of projects has been primarily for commercial, institutional and industrial clients. Since 2000, our client base has expanded into advanced technological and telecommunications arenas. BSA’s history includes extensive experience with ground up mission critical facilities along with expansions and alterations to existing facilities. We work closely with MEP consultants and other necessary design team members that have extensive mission critical experience to provide best value solutions to our clients.
